Daniel Willingham has written an excellent book which discusses this beautiful but naive belief.

http://www.amazon.com/Why-Dont-Students-Like-School/dp/0470279303

Thanks for the commentTom Bennetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03211959016018081924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3019828684971971203.post-40446677501986710302011-04-10T19:33:11.536+01:002011-04-10T19:33:11.536+01:00'Talk of reaching the kids always makes me thi...'Talk of reaching the kids always makes me think of this'

Southpark is wise, as usual. She just left it unsaid that loving someone means awlays doing exactly what they want you to do, even if it's stupid, but I guess that's what she thinks.

And it's just a passing thought, but why didn't they make the programme with younger pupils, given the weight that's attached to early intervention?Neilnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3019828684971971203.post-59184960167192052352011-04-09T19:59:14.888+01:002011-04-09T19:59:14.888+01:00"Anyway.
